Senior Underwriter, Casualty

The Sr. Underwriter’s primary responsibility is to underwrite individual E&S Casualty risks. 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

Solicits new and renewal submissions from brokers Determines terms and conditions and complex rating plans Binds coverage Documents the underwriting files Handles more complex files and portfolios within underwriting authority

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

3-5 years underwriting experienceBachelor’s degree

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of insurance industryExperience underwriting wholesale casualty insuranceExperience underwriting umbrella and primary casualty insuranceKnowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and proceduresMicrosoft Word, Excel, and OutlookInternet usageOral and written communication skillsNegotiation skills Marketing skills

The pay range for the role is $80,500 to $137,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
