The opportunity

We have a rare opportunity for a Senior Underwriter to join our International Aviation business in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. As a Senior Underwriter you will underwrite aviation business for the Asian, New Zealand and Pacific regions, in accordance with the business plan and to act as a business partner with assigned intermediaries and direct clients.

Your new role

A day in the role may look a bit like this…..

Underwrite aviation risks in accordance with defined limits of authority, organisational policy and underwriting strategy

Achieve underwriting results and profitable growth through new business and renewals, in accordance with plan/budget

Provide expertise on accessing opportunities for growth

Maintain and develop relationships with intermediaries, direct clients and aviation industry bodies

Represent QBE at client presentations and aviation industry functions

Provide technical and specialist product expertise

Maintain in-depth knowledge of aviation risk factors, legislation and regulations

Build and maintain strong relationships with the underwriting, claims and administration teams.

About you

To be successful you will come from either an Aviation Insurance background or will have a solid working knowledge of the Aviation industry. You will also have…

Extensive experience within insurance, relationship management or similar

General aviation market knowledge is essential

Reporting & analytical abilities including use of Microsoft Excel

Presentation & facilitation skills including use of Microsoft Word and Power Point

Strong communication skills and a team focus

Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry experience
