Senior Underwriter, Life Sciences

Chubb is currently seeking a Commercial Lines - Life Sciences Underwriter to join our New York City Office.

Main responsibilities include:

Establish relationships with key trading partners and drive submission activity across assigned Agents & Brokers in our desired industry segments.  Responsibility for profit, growth and retention of assigned book. This will consist of $7M-$8M in business.  Meet or exceed new business production goals ($1M - $1.5M) while maintaining profitability across assigned portfolio and adhering to authority and strategies. Develop a prospect pipeline with our major trading partners, as well as engaging other business units for cross-selling opportunities. In conjunction with Underwriter Associate, retain key assigned renewals and lead coordination of Loss Control & Claims Service plans for service level accounts. 

 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 5  years underwriting experience preferably in Life ScienceSolid knowledge of commercial underwriting with the ability to analyze risks, adhere to underwriting strategies, prioritize the gathering of underwriting data, and clearly communicate a well thought out underwriting approach.Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience handling Life Science business.Strong analytical skills including financial analysisStrong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to effectively interact with both internal and external business partners.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The pay range for the role is $80,500 to $137,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
