The role of Underwriter is primarily responsible for the following: Reporting directly to the National Construction & Engineering Manager Application of underwriting strategies within targeted industries and occupations Adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards as issued by Pen Underwriting and Security Partners Providing underwriting expertise in risk assessment, terms, conditions and pricing for new and existing accounts Build and develop relationships with Intermediaries in the procurement of new account opportunities and strengthen renewal retentions Supporting other product underwriters in the development of broker relationships for creating new account opportunities Technical referral point for underwriters Training and development of underwriters Develop relationships with capacity providers Develop an understanding of our portfolio including the key trends of our book and the market as a whole Your motivated personality and can-do attitude along with experience in the following are essential for this role: Minimum 5 years Construction Underwriting experience Excellent time management and organisation Ability to work collaboratively within a team Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, problem solving and attention to detail skills required Attractive salary with opportunity to grow We encourage you to apply via our careers website or for further information, please contact our Talent Acquisition team at careers@ajg.com.au Any offer of employment and subsequent continuing employment is dependent upon the completion of relevant pre-employment background checks.
