The opportunity

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Senior Underwriter, supporting Elder’s business unit to underwrite business in accordance with the business plan within set underwriting guidelines and service standards, within individual earned or delegated underwriting authority. You will have the opportunity to use your insurance knowledge and underwriting skills while working collaboratively as part of a progressive national team. Your new role

This role will see you:

Underwrite complex risks in accordance with defined limits of authority or class authority, organisational policy and underwriting standardsPlan and implement a strategy to attract and retain high value customers and to improve poor performing policiesProvision of underwriting advice, referral coaching and technical support to the team to assist in the development of individuals knowledge and excellent service to clients, combined with a profitable portfolioMonitor client and market requirements and client feedback by conducting client calls / visitsEnsure all documentation is accurate and complies with organisation guidelines.Provide efficient and timely service & problem-solving solutions to brokers and clients.Develop and maintain good working relationships with all customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholdersPartner with Manager Partnerships team to proactively engage and work on a strategic plan to grow the business with targeted customer segments

About you

To be successful in this Underwriting role you will have:

Extensive experience as a Senior UnderwriterBroad insurance industry knowledgeEstablished customer relationship management and communication skillsUnderstanding of relevant Insurance market conditionsStrong business acumen with the ability to analyse data and use for decision makingRelevant problem solving and negotiation skills
