The opportunity

This role provides an opportunity to assist the Financial Lines / Liability underwriting team in supporting business development and growth initiatives, focusing on fundamentals of underwriting practices, cultivating relationships with clients, and contributing to the profitability of the designated portfolio 

Your new role

A day in the role may look a bit like this:

Assist in reviewing, evaluating, and pricing business by supporting underwriting decisions and adhering to regulatory standards.Help underwrite new and existing policies while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and guidelines.Support the identification and minimization of risks through thorough due diligence and escalation of issues when necessary.Collaborate with senior underwriters to learn and apply best practices in underwriting and pricing strategies.Maintain awareness of legal and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance in all underwriting activities.Contribute to recording and measurement of insurance risks.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have significant underwriting experience in the insurance industry, including operations, sales, underwriting, and claims. You will be a commercially astute individual who is passionate, customer focused and able to develop strong business relationships both internally and with our Agency network. You will also bring your initiative, resilience and thrive in a fast-paced changing environment. 

You will have:

Commercial background will be an advantage Flexibility to work across a changing portfolio Strong/established customer/broker relationships Broad understanding of class specific underwriting and reinsurance knowledge Proven knowledge of relevant market conditions for specific class/portfolio Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
