The Opportunity

As part of the Global Design organization, the design team is seeking a strong Sr. UX designer for our Bangalore, India office. We are looking for someone who is recognized for their design leadership and is known for their domain expertise. The successful candidate is someone who is passionate about solving complex problems, is excited by the opportunity to work with a globally distributed design team and can help grow and connect design projects across Nutanix's worldwide offices.

 

About the Team

At Nutanix, you'll be part of our dynamic UX Design Team, which is a vibrant and innovative group spanning across India, the US, and Germany. Our team thrives on creativity, continuously pushing the boundaries of design to enhance user experiences. We foster a collaborative atmosphere that encourages experimentation and out-of-the-box thinking, allowing each team member to contribute their unique insights and skills to produce exceptional design solutions.

You will report to Sr. Manager of Design, who is dedicated to mentoring team members while cultivating a culture of support and creativity. Our work setup is hybrid, allowing you to work 2–3 days a week in the office, striking a balance between collaboration and flexibility. 

 

Your Role

Can build a solid understanding of the NDB / DBaaS product domain and develop a reputation within a company in that domain.Is a natural leader and passionate designer who can guide multiple designers and team members.Digests problems with high complexity and proposes simple and elegant solutionsHas a strong design portfolio demonstrating innovation, craftsmanship and leadership and micro-interactions.Demonstrates an ability to drive a variety of design-related activities like design, research, collaboration with support / sales stakeholders etc.Can build a tight relationship with cross-functional stakeholders and influence them to ensure better user experience outcomes.Has an ability to challenge the status quo with attention to detail in UX strategy and implementationWorks with UI development and backend engineering teams to ensure effective execution of designs.Can generate customer insights and influence feature direction.Has an ability to estimate the technical feasibility/ implications of designs and propose solutions leading to convergence.Identifies gaps/inefficiencies in the design process and contributes to improvements.Has exceptional presentation and communication skillsHas a demonstrated ability to participate in and enhance design team activities and culture

 

What You Will Bring

 

Ability to independently plan and execute formative and summative user researchTrack record of educating stakeholders on design capabilities and processes.Strong interest in data visualization and enterprise software.Have working knowledge of accessibility guidelines and best practices.Facilitates design sprints, workshops and brainstorming sessions. HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3 knowledge, current on the latest responsive design techniques.

 

 Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (Masters, PhD, etc.) in Design, Interaction design, HCI, or related field with 8+ years’ experience in enterprise or consumer.Experience working on products in complex and technical domainsPassion for design, telling customer stories, and simplifying complex problemsStrong working knowledge of the latest wireframing/ design and prototyping toolsStrong written and verbal communication skills. Able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.How we work:Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.How we work:Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence.
