Senior UX Designer

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior UX Accessibility Designer to lead and advocate for accessibility in our digital products. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that accessibility is integrated into every stage of the design and development lifecycle. You will act as a subject-matter expert, driving the adoption of accessibility best practices and standards across the organization while mentoring others and ensuring compliance with WCAG and ADA guidelines.


About the Team

You will report to Director of Design, who is dedicated to mentoring team members while cultivating a culture of support and creativity. Our work setup is hybrid, allowing you to work 2–3 days a week in the office, striking a balance between collaboration and flexibility. 


Your Role

Lead Accessibility Integration

Define and implement accessibility strategies and frameworks across all UX design projects.It serves as the primary advocate for accessibility in all digital initiatives, ensuring compliance with standards like WCAG 2.1, EAA, ADA, and Section 508.

 Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with designers, developers, product managers, and researchers to create accessible and inclusive user experiences.Mentor team members on accessibility best practices and promote a culture of inclusivity across the organization.

 Accessibility Audits & Testing

Conduct accessibility evaluations, usability testing, and audits of digital products using tools like Axe, WAVE, or NVDA.Work with engineering teams to resolve accessibility issues and validate fixes.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

Stay updated on accessibility standards, emerging trends, and assistive technologies.Recommend and implement tools, processes, and techniques to continuouslyImprove the accessibility of our products.

Documentation & Advocacy

Create and maintain comprehensive accessibility documentation and guidelines for internal and external stakeholders.Advocate for user needs by presenting findings, insights, and recommendations to leadership and teams.

What You Will Bring

Required:

Bachelor’s degree or advanced degrees (Masters, PhD, etc.) in Design, Interaction design,HCI, or related field with 8+ years experience in enterprise or consumer product.7+ years of UX design experience, with at least 4 years specializing in accessibility.Deep expertise in accessibility standards and laws (WCAG, ADA, Section 508).Experience with assistive technologies such as screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS), keyboard navigation, and voice command tools.Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to advocate for accessibility at all levels of the organization.Passion for design, telling customer stories, and simplifying complex problems

Preferred:

Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, or DHS Trusted Tester).Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and ARIA practices.Experience working in Agile or Lean environments.Experience in the enterprise product industryStrong interest in data visualization and enterprise software.
