What you'll do...

Position: Senior UX Designer

Job Location: 850 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066

Duties: Work cross-functionally and develop User Interfaces (UI) through collaboration with product managers, project managers, researchers, business stakeholders, software developers, and design managers. Conduct UX discovery, validate use cases, map information architecture and user flows, and present insights to stakeholders. Translate use cases into wireframes and prototypes in Figma and apply Walmart’s design system to maintain user experience and brand consistency across the platform. Contribute to Walmart’s Living Design system with new design patterns as required. Present user experience flows and project decisions to all levels of leadership, while driving the attainment of the project and business goals. Actively solicit feedback from peers and cross-functional stakeholders through the product design lifecycle. Design for accessibility and inclusion, including ADA compliance standards. Execute visual quality assessments of developed products for further improvement. Create hand-off documentation for engineers including detailed design specifications. Improve the end-to-end experience by helping conduct usability tests, identifying UX issues, and recommending design solutions. This position does not supervise employees.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction, or related area and 1 year of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction, or related area and 3 years of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.

Skills required: Experience with agile methodologies, including user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, and documenting process stages. Experience using one the following: Jira, Airtable, or Asana. Experience working with product managers, software engineers, user experience researchers, and content strategists. Experience leveraging design principles and user-centered insights to influence product prioritization and roadmaps and to inform timelines, deliverables, and the overall design strategy from ideation to launch.  Experience designing web and mobile user interfaces, information architecture, User Interfaces (UI) components, and prototypes using Sketch, Figma, FigJam, and Miro. Experience designing new User Interfaces (UI) components to be added to the design library, along with their specifications. Experience facilitating design thinking workshops using techniques including empathy mapping, brainstorming, and ideation. Experience defining user experience using wireframing, persona development, journey mapping, and service blueprint and using one the following tools: Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision. Experience creating responsive user interface designs for desktop and mobile use cases. Experience applying visual design principles, including color theory, typography, and brand guidelines using one of the following: Adobe Photoshop, Figma, or Sketch. Experience creating User Interfaces (UI) animations and micro-interactions using one the following tools: Adobe After Effects, Framer, or Figma. Experience collaborating with researchers to conduct market and user research. Experience with usability testing using usertesting.com. Experience with qualitative and quantitative methods including surveys, one-on-one interviews, contextual inquiry, and card sorting. Experience applying usability principles and accessibility design standards based on WCAG and ADA guidelines.  Experience with omnichannel ecommerce design patterns, including native mobile, responsive web, and store kiosk User Interfaces (UI) experiences.  Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $159,432/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
