As a Senior UX Writer at Paylocity, you’ll play a critical role in shaping clear, engaging, and user-centered content for our products. Working closely with product designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers, you will craft copy that enhances usability, simplifies complex concepts, and aligns with our brand voice. You are an expert communicator, a meticulous editor, and a strategic thinker who understands the value of language in creating intuitive, effective user experiences. This role will report to the Manager of Content Design. Responsibilities: + Develop, edit, and review UX copy across various platforms and products to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with Paylocity’s brand voice and user experience standards. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including design, product, and development—to ensure content enhances functionality and supports user journeys across digital products. + Conduct user research, gather insights, and leverage data to inform and validate content decisions, ensuring that copy resonates with the intended audience. + Advocate for UX writing best practices and contribute to the creation and maintenance of a content style guide to ensure consistency across all Paylocity products. + Collaborate with localization teams to ensure content is adaptable and relevant across different languages and regions, supporting global accessibility. + Apply accessibility best practices to ensure that all content is inclusive and functional for users with varying abilities, including screen reader compatibility and plain language standards. + Contribute to content strategy by identifying areas for content improvements and collaborating on solutions to enhance the overall product experience. + Stay current with industry trends in UX writing, design, and technology to drive innovative content solutions within the team. Required Experience: + Bachelor's degree in communications, English, Journalism, or a related field, or 5-7 years of applied experience in content design or UX writing. + Exceptional communication, writing, and editorial skills, with experience crafting content for digital products. + Ability to tackle complex communication challenges and simplify them for a diverse range of users. + Proven ability to work within and influence cross-functional teams, including product, design, and engineering. + Strong experience in content strategy, information architecture, and interaction design. Soft Skills: + Strong communicator and problem-solver with the ability to influence and advocate for UX writing best practices. + Relentlessly curious about user needs, content trends, and industry advancements. + Passionate about delivering an exceptional user experience and willing to push for content that benefits the end-user.
