Senior UXO Supervisor

**Amentum** is seeking a **Senior UXO Supervisor** to join our team in **Hawthorne, Nevada** to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The **Senior UXO Supervisor** will be responsible for the supervision of on-site demilitarization of MEC, and the handling of demolition materials. **Senior UXO Supervisor** conducts and evaluates all risks associated to ensure material movement remains within acceptable range. **Senior UXO Supervisor** will also provide subject matter expertise with all munitions, explosives, and associated hazards to include explosive residues on ranges, buildings and equipment.
**Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.**
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Supervise integrated functions comprised of various job classifications and personnel in MEC-related activities for maintenance, development, and construction ensuring the customer’s requirements are met and ranges are in accordance with Army and Department of Defense Manuals, Instructions and Policies for geographically assigned area.
+ Work cooperatively and professionally with the Manager, Superintendents, and Project Managers for the geographical region and all personnel on the contract, to include US Government customer.
+ Coordinate and shares best practices with other Managers, UXO Techs, Project Managers, and other management personnel.
+ Provide guidance and technical direction of HWAD Union personnel and on a specific site or multiple sites of HWAD supporting contract operations, responsible for the quality and performance of work.
+ Plan and oversee maintenance events and mission support activities.
+ Plan, coordinate, and supervise all on-site munitions response and operational range clearance, and open detonation range activities.
+ Assist in development of required plans (e.g., health and safety plans).
+ Review all field reports (e.g., daily reports, audits) and approve UXO team reports.
+ Evaluate the risk of movement of UXO or (DMM) within operational range with the UXOSO/QCS and provide approval for movement by UXOT when the risk of movement is determined to be acceptable.
+ Supervise the investigation for and identification of MEC (Munitions and Explosives of Concern) and MPPEH (Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard), including explosive residues in media (soil, oil, etc.), on range, buildings and equipment.
+ Supervise the identification of different types of military munitions, including identifying whether a military munition’s fuse is armed or unarmed.
+ Supervise on-site demilitarization of MEC, and handling of demolition materials.
+ Supervise the inspection of munitions, munitions components, for the presence of explosive hazards.
+ Supervise personnel assisting in range clearances to ensure hazardous items are not inadvertently moved or removed.
+ Inspect MPPEH IAW DoDI 4140.62 to identify and remove MDEH before it can be declared MDAS.
+ Perform risk-hazard analysis, maintenance and operator checks on all team equipment.
+ Supervise reconnaissance and classification of UXO identification of US and foreign guided missiles, bombs and bomb fuses, grenades and grenade fuses, rockets and rocket fuses, land mines and associated components.
+ Supervise locating subsurface UXO using military and/or civilian magnetometers.
+ Direct operator maintenance of military and/or civilian magnetometers.
+ Responsible for demolition of materials, preparing non-electric firing system for al UXO disposal operation, preparing electric firing system for an UXO disposal operation and disposing of ammunition/explosives by burning.
+ Assist in the inspection of salvage UXO-related material and erection of UXO-related protective works.
+ Provide additional operational mission, test, and exercise support as required.
+ May provide instructions or work direction to lower-level technicians.
+ Provide general instructions, standard procedures, overall priorities, and policies, and ensures operations are safe and accomplishes an adequate quantity and quality of work. Work is reviewed for efficient and economical accomplishment within priorities and controls received.
+ Follow all pertinent contractual, local, state, and federal compliance documents and procedures.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Must be a graduate of U.S. Naval School EOD.
+ Ten (10) years of EOD/MEC experience in explosive ordnance recognition, handling, retrieval, and disposal.
+ Five (5) years MEC-supervisor experience.
+ Prior military EOD and/or commercial UXO experience in all phases of range clearance operations and munitions response actions.
+ Experience in managing an Explosive Safety Program; recognition of munitions and MEC, particularly UXO; and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
+ Graduate of an OSHA-compliant (29 CFR 1910.120) 40-hour HAZWOPER course.
+ Graduate of an OSHA-compliant (29 CFR 1910.120(e)(4)) 8-hour Management and Supervisor Training course.
+ Certified as a Safety Trained Supervisor.
+ Meet the criteria for and perform the functions of a UXO-TIII, UXOQCS, and UXOSO as defined in DoD Explosive Safety Board Technical Paper 18.
+ Must be able to demonstrate experience working in procedurally, environmental and safety compliant environment.
+ Able to speak, read, and write English.
+ Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
+ **Must possess a valid Driver’s License.**
+ **Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.**

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by 29 CFR and Army Regulations: AR 190-11, AR 190-13 and DOD Contractors Safety Manual 4145.26.
