Senior VAVE Electronic Engineer

The SR. VAVE Electronic Engineer will report to the Senior Manager, Global Cost and Value Engineering and will work with cross-functional teams that identify value/cost improvement opportunities and develop business cases and build implementation plans with the appropriate functions to enable value while minimizing risk. Ultimately, to ensure our customers’ satisfaction. You Will Make an Impact by: + Implement Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) methodologies in collaboration with functional organizations (Engineering, Category Management, Sourcing Management, Project Management, Lean, etc.) on both released and newly developed products. + Taking apart and thoroughly comparing different parts and products. This includes looking closely at how they are built, their functional elements, and how they perform, to identify subtle differences and gather valuable insights to improve and optimize them. + Create the VAVE process, develop and maintain cost models for products or projects, considering various factors such as manufacturing processes, materials, and labor for leveraging in contract negotiations with suppliers. + Provide support to project teams in formulating target costs for projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. + Analyze the material value of different product categories such as electrical, mechanical and optics, or the result of sourcing events and summarize financial opportunities along with business recommendations. + Execute Category Management strategies, including developing cost models from new suppliers in new markets. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability and Manufacturing teams to ensure successfully achieving project milestones. + Utilize data analytics tools to analyze cost data, trends and patterns. + Flexibility to travel up to 20% of the time Skills You Bring: (Required Skills): + Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic or Electrical engineering (or a related Engineering degree) + 5+ years of Electronic design (PCB, CAD or other design tools) experience, + Ability to read, interpret & modify complex 2D & 3D CAD drawings (Solidworks, Autocad, etc.) + Good understanding of manufacturing process/part fabrication knowledge + Fluent in English Preferred Skills: + VAVE and New Product Introduction experience + Cost Engineering experience + Strong negotiation skills in things such as open book costing, cost reduction, cost avoidance, and other terms & conditions + Knowledge of should-cost modeling in a manufacturing environment, create cost models and understand cost drivers + Skill in operating Siemens Product Cost Management software or other costing software + K nowledge of Lean Manufacturing and ability to define key value streams + Capability to deconstruct and conduct comparative analysis. + Experience with Smartsheet, Power BI or similar What's in it for you?
