**Overview**
The SVP, Science + Medicine is a senior leader responsible for shaping how science informs strategy, creative, and decision-making across the agency. This role goes beyond ensuring medical accuracy—it’s about translating complexity into clarity, connecting data to insight, and making the science relevant so the work can go further.
Working in close partnership with the Chief Medical Officer, the SVP will help scale a high-performing team of scientific thinkers, mentor talent, and develop frameworks that elevate how medical strategy shows up across brands and disciplines. Together, they will continue to evolve the Science + Medicine function as a key driver of both creative excellence and business impact.
The SVP will own a portfolio of client business, leading the science and medical strategy across key brands and ensuring the work is clinically sound, strategically sharp, and built to influence. They will also partners across Strategy, Creative, Engagement, and Account to ensure the science doesn’t just show up—it shows the way forward. They’ll help transform complex data into narratives that resonate with how HCPs think, treat, and decide—and guide the development of work that can stand up to scrutiny and still break through.
They’ll also serve as an internal educator, helping build fluency across teams by making science accessible and actionable. And as a key voice in new business efforts, the SVP will represent the Science + Medicine POV in pitches—bringing credibility, clarity, and strategic depth to the agency’s most important opportunities.

**Responsibilities**
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**

**Organizational Building**
+ Shape and evolve the capabilities and structure of the Science + Medicine team in partnership with executive leadership.
+ Define hiring priorities and onboarding approaches that build therapeutic depth and strategic range across the department.
+ Develop team members through structured mentorship, performance management, and leadership training.
+ Establish best practices and scalable frameworks to elevate the role of science across brands and teams.
**Creative + Strategic Influence**
+ Act as a core member of brand leadership teams, ensuring the science informs and elevates strategy, messaging, and creative concepts.
+ Partner with Strategy and Creative to shape breakthrough ideas that ring true clinically and resonate with HCPs and patients.
+ Help teams translate complex data into clear, compelling, and influential narratives.
+ Direct and collaborate with copywriters to shape medically accurate, strategically aligned content
+ Represent the Science + Medicine POV in client pitches and businessdevelopment efforts.
+ Support account teams in expanding scope of work for existing clients
**Thought Leadership + Visibility**
+ Serve as a visible thought leader for the agency on scientific and clinical trends, bringing proactive insights that inform brand strategy and creative opportunities.
+ Educate internal teams on disease, treatment, and clinical context to build fluency across disciplines
+ Develop POVs, frameworks, and presentations that help position the agency as a leader in HCP marketing.
+ Represent the agency at external events, conferences, and key client engagements as a subject matter expert.
**Cross-functional Leadership**
+ Collaborate closely with Strategy, Creative, Engagement, and Account teams to build unified brand perspectives and campaign strategies.
+ Be an internal advocate for the integration of science and medicine in every phase of the work—from brief to concept to launch.
**Qualifications**
**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:**
Minimum of an advanced degree in healthcare (PharmD, PhD, MD, MS, in a healthcare or science field)
+ 10+ years of experience in a medical strategy, medical affairs, or scientific role within healthcare communications, pharmaceutical industry, or a related field.
+ 3+ years leading and mentoring cross-functional teams; proven experience scaling a team or function preferred.
+ Deep familiarity with clinical trial data, treatment pathways, and competitive landscapes.
+ Deep understanding of both clinical science and the principles of healthcare marketing, including how HCPs think, treat, and decide along with regulations, and practices.
+ Strong client-facing experience with comfort presenting at the senior executive level.
+ Must be capable of working both independently and in a team environment.

Compensation Range: $176,700 - $263,655 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
