Overview
The People Business Partner team has the primary responsibility for the achievement of business-wide strategic goals and performance through a comprehensive talent strategy touching all aspects of the employee lifecycle and organization design and development. The portfolio covers our LAC region where we operate in 45 markets.
The People Business Partner lead for LAC will design and implement a strategy that supports the different needs of this expansive geography, while aligning to the overarching strategy of The Americas and Mastercard globally.
This position reports to the Executive Vice President, People & Capability, Americas, with a dual reporting line to the President, LAC.
This position manages a team of business partners located across the region and is responsible for the overall delivery of the people strategy for the region, partnering with regional and global Centers of Excellence colleagues.

Role
•\tOversee and be responsible for the development and implementation of people and talent strategies and initiatives, management of people and organization activities for assigned portfolio, which includes LAC employees and global business employees located in LAC locations.
•\tAct as a positive cultural change agent, consultant and business advisor to the leadership team, enabling the execution of their business strategies and initiatives.
•\tPartner with People & Capability Center of Excellence colleagues and global People Business Partners to develop strategies and initiatives designed to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
•\tServe as an advocate for employees and develop and implement initiatives designed to enhance employee engagement, development and productivity.
•\tManage and perform a wide range of P&C activities including but not limited to enabling the businesses strategic goals through the people agenda, talent management and succession planning, organization design, geographic expansion, performance management, employee relations management, coaching and mentoring, reward assessment and influencing the direction for reward in the region and talent acquisition.
•\tPartner with Finance to manage the budget and forecasting of expenses related to employees and all other P&C activities.
•\tPlay an important leadership role for the P&C function across the geography that spans beyond reporting lines. Acts as the lead for all P&C activities in the geography, collaborating widely with colleagues across the function and organization to drive the LAC agenda.

•\tDeep experience in all areas of talent management to support the organization in the areas of talent attraction, retention, succession planning and engagement.
•\tExperience in designing people and talent strategies for a geographically diverse workforce with different needs and challenges.
•\tAbility to design and articulate strategic vision and plans, while maintaining/driving discipline to execute those plans with excellence.
•\tAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage/deliver high volume with speed and quality.
•\tDeep experience leading People Business Partner teams across multiple geographies
High degree of ownership and accountability. Can easily move between operating as a strategic advisor to executing with operational excellence.
•\tAbility to travel to LAC locations and globally, as needed.
•\tStrongly preferred Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
