Job Summary
The SVP & President Triad Region is a key strategic executive responsible for leading and optimizing a comprehensive portfolio of healthcare assets across acute care, ambulatory services, institute and community medicine, nursing and all clinical services, and corporate services within the assigned region. This role is accountable for collaborative partnerships internally and externally, with all roles includin g regional acute care president, nursing & clinical services leadership, professional & continuum of care services leadership, ambulatory leadership, institutes and community medicine leadership, and corporate shared services. Builds strategic partnerships and relationships with physicians, both employed and non-employed, independent physicians, as well as community relationships and engagement. Functions as a dynamic leader to boldly foster a highly collaborative, outcomes-driven team focused on accountability and shared decision making in all that we do. This leader will develop and execute strategic initiatives that focus on team wellbeing, safety & quality, patient experience, operational excellence growth, and innovation. The SVP will be responsible for understanding the competitive landscape, consumer preferences, and payor dynamics to drive innovation and maximize value across the healthcare continuum.

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Optimization:
· Develop and implement a comprehensive regional strategy that optimizes the portfolio of assets in the region, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
· Assess market trends, competitive forces, and regulatory changes to inform portfolio decisions and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
· Drive operational synergies across Institutes, acute and ambulatory operations units, clinical services and nursing, and corporate services, improving financial performance, clinical quality, and patient experience.
· Lead expansion efforts, including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other growth initiatives to enhance the organization’s presence and impact in the region.
· Accountable for Community Engagement and Social Responsibility and serve in the capacity of face for Novant Health in the community related event in the region, engaging with the community to address unmet needs.
· Develops curriculum and leads monthly regional strategic and leadership meetings, and establishes and leads a physician council consisting of both employed and non-employed physicians.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
· Collaborate with executives, shared system services, nursing, acute and ambulatory operating unit leaders and Region leaders.
· Communicate strategic priorities and operational goals effectively across the organization.
· Collaborate with leadership to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and patient outcomes.
· Facilitate multi-disciplinary collaboration to enhance integration and optimize service delivery and operational excellence across all acute care facilities.
Market & Competitive Analysis:
• Conduct thorough market analyses to understand regional healthcare demands, patient demographics, payor trends, and competitive positioning.
• Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to identify and implement strategies that enhance market share and consumer engagement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including payors, community leaders, and strategic partners, to support business development efforts.
Clinical Quality & Patient Safety:
· Collaborate with leadership to implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and accreditation readiness efforts. Ensure the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and clinical excellence across all acute-care facilities within Novant Health.
· Responsible for prioritizing patient and staff safety, leading initiatives to improve patient experience, and implementing strategic changes to enhance care delivery, efficiency, and overall organizational performance.
· Promote a culture of accountability, safety and excellence in clinical care delivery.
Operational Excellence & Performance Optimization
• Establish performance benchmarks and accountability measures to drive operational efficiency, service excellence, and financial sustainability.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational discipline across all healthcare assets in the region.
• Collaborate with SVPs for Clinical Shared Services and nursing (and delegates), executive leaders and Regional acute and ambulatory leaders to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care delivery while optimizing resource utilization.
Financial Stewardship & Resource Allocation:
• Develop and manage the regional financial plan, ensuring strategic investments are aligned with growth priorities and financial performance objectives.
• Identify opportunities to enhance revenue growth, reduce costs, and improve operational margins across the region.
• Leverage data analytics to drive evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning efforts.
Leadership & Organizational Development:
• Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to all regional leadership teams, fostering a high-performance culture and leadership pipeline.
• Champion belonging initiatives to create an inclusive and engaged workforce.
• Ensure alignment of regional system shared services, nursing and operating units, with the organization’s strategic priorities and values.
Qualifications
+ Education: Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPH) required.
+ Experience:
+ Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, strategy, or related fields within a complex healthcare system.
+ Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans, driving operational excellence, and achieving financial and clinical performance goals.
+ Additional Skills (required):
+ Deep understanding of healthcare market dynamics, including payor relationships, regulatory environments, and consumer trends.
+ Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
+ Ability to lead and influence across a matrixed organization, fostering collaboration, belonging and alignment across functions.
