Senior Water Reuse Engineer
Senior Water Reuse Engineer - ( 250001CS ) **Description** Stantec, a leading global engineering and design firm, is seeking a Senior Water Reuse Engineer to join our team in the Southwest. As a Senior Water Reuse Engineer, you will lead teams, work collaboratively on larger projects, and independently manage smaller projects. Your main objective will be to support the delivery of water reuse projects in the Southwest U.S., with the potential to work on projects across North America and internationally. To be successful in this role, you will need to be self-motivated, capable of supervising complex teams, passionate about mentoring staff, and dedicated to advancing the field of water reuse. Projects assigned to you may be complex and diverse, providing you with various opportunities to contribute to advancing the Water Reuse practice. The role also supports pursuing water reuse projects through technical sales and developing technical solutions, all in line with our commitment to excellence. **Your Key Responsibilities** + Lead the delivery of alternative water source, advanced water purification, and related water and wastewater projects as a Project Technical Lead. This includes conducting pilot studies, performing engineering calculations, preparing drawings and reports, delivering client presentations, and handling required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies. + Participate in the development of water reuse solutions with clients. This includes, but may not be limited to, face-to-face client interactions, site visits, technical training for client staff, workshop presentations on treatment technology, planning, regulatory frameworks, etc. + Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors. + Lead the preparation and coordination of pilot studies, engineering studies, design reports, and project specifications with construction documents. + Engages in design development through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats. + Manage and lead other team members while working on projects; complete tasks and delegate specific tasks to other team members as appropriate. + Collaborates with project managers and senior engineers to develop and manage the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule. + Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own products and facilitates independent technical review of these projects. + Conducts quality assessment and quality control on various elements of other projects. + Assists with the management of the design and construction of projects. + Involved in the permitting process of projects, which may require meeting with clients, contractors, and interested stakeholder parties and reviewing agency personnel. + Coordinates with the regulatory review to seek final approval. + Assists in developing and updating project design standards and guidelines; prepares abstracts and technical papers. + Participates in strategic planning for the water reuse practice. **Qualifications** **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Effective communicator and able to work on and lead teams. + Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers/vendors, funding agencies, and reviewing agencies; deliver technical presentations in public forums, conferences, and technical symposia. + Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and to engage in creative and critical thought. + Possesses excellent time-management skills; thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and available resources. + General understanding of all phases of project document production, client procurement procedures, and regulatory approval processes. + Understanding local and regional jurisdictional codes and legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions with specific emphasis on water reuse regulations. + Understanding aquatic chemistry and water quality issues relevant to municipal and industrial water reuse. + Ability to evaluate and design advanced water treatment processes. + Ability to perform hydraulic calculations. + Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Adobe. **Education and Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, Master’s degree preferred. + Licensed Professional Engineer. + Minimum of 12 years of experience. Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s): **Salary Range(s):** * $121,200 - $181,800 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO, HI, MD and IL The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
