HDR is seeking a SeniorWater/Wastewater Project Managerto join our growing Water Business Group in Grand Junction, CO.
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager, we'll count on you to:
Bring an entrepreneurial spirit to help grow and expand our western slope area water business clientele.Manage key projects or programs in a client-facing role, including managing technical staff and subconsultant teams to meet project delivery needs and exceed client expectations.Deliver engineering/process design work, drive project coordination, coordinate / lead teams in developing design drawings and specifications, plan work, establish appropriate design methods, and prepare / coordinate developing technical reports.Confirm implementation of HDR quality standards and value engineering solutions and conduct / coordinate quality control reviews of completed deliverables.Work with our Colorado area Client Development and Market Sector (i.e., drinking water, wastewater, and water resources management) Leads to build our brand, visibility and increase our market share in the western slope water market.Assess market potential for assigned clients and, with support of our Client Development Lead and marketing team, position HDR for successful capture of these opportunities.Serve as Client Manager for strategic clients in the Grand Junction area, acting as the principal point of HDR’s relationship and advocate for these strategic clients.Lead and establish strategic client relationships, periodic meetings, contractual discussions, project deliverable reviews, and marketing efforts (as coordinated with our area Client Development Lead).As Project Manager, coordinate the work of engineers and the balance of the multi-discipline project team throughout the entire project development, including work sessions to review and coordinate deliverables while tracking action items and decision needs.Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule and within budget.Mentor staff in client management, marketing, project management, and technical delivery aspects.Work closely with our Colorado Area Manager, Water Business Group Manager, Section Managers, and Project Managers.Strong interpersonal and communications skills, project management (staffing, schedule, and budget) and mentoring skills.Team player with ability to function effectively in a variety of roles on integrated project teams.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Perform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications
Preference given to individuals with experience working in the Grand Junction area and the Colorado water market.Strong water / wastewater technical background, including experience such as master planning, facility planning, preliminary engineering studies and evaluations, the design of treatment plant facilities and systems, water distribution pipelines, wastewater collection pipelines, pumping facilities and water resource related projects.LI-BC1
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering 10 years related experience A minimum 5 years project management experience Professional Engineer (PE) license MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus) Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
