Position Summary
The Senior Workplace Engineer in Allianz Technology Malaysia, Regional Delivery Center (RDC) is tasked with overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's workplace environment. This role involves providing advanced technical support, managing workplace-related projects, and ensuring a secure and efficient computing experience for all users. The Senior Workplace Engineer acts as a subject matter expert in workplace technologies and works closely with teams to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with reporting manager to Design, develop, and produce performance reports, dashboards, and scorecards to communicate key performance metrics and insights to stakeholders.
Working closely with WPS Lead to set clear goals, objectives and priorities for the team, ensure alignment with Future Workplace transformation plan . And, identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and streamlining the workflows. Monitor day to day team delivery of Services and support including incident management, service requests and problem resolution to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and user expectations.
Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support for workplace systems, including hardware, software, and peripheral devices. Resolve complex technical issues and provide guidance to junior team members.
System Configuration and Management: Configure, and manage workplace systems and applications to ensure optimal performance and security. Maintain standard operating environments (SOEs).
Project Management: Lead and manage workplace-related projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security protocols and compliance standards for desktop systems. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure data protection and system integrity. Work closely with the governance team on the forward looking toxic items ( Group & OE toxic list) to plan scheduled and completion before the toxic date. Prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity, potential impact, and exploitability to focus patch management efforts on critical vulnerabilities that pose the greatest risk to the OE.
Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline workplace management tasks and improve efficiency.
Documentation and Training: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for workplace systems and procedures. Provide training and support to IT staff and end-users. Asset inventory and monitoring management
Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate new technologies, procure hardware/software, disposal and manage support contracts.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance desktop infrastructure and user experience. Work closely with the team to maintain or improve workplace product stability by reducing incidents or reoccurrence incidents. To conduct training sessions and create documentation to help users understand and effectively utilize digital workplace solutions
Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Global Collaboration: Work with global teams to manage and deliver globally managed services. Coordinate with global teams to ensure alignment and consistency in service delivery.
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in IT support, system administration, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge in Workplace technologies such as and not limit to Microsoft 365 products and service, Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Manager, SCCM, Microsoft Entra ID, Password Manager solutions
5 years and above experience in Workplace technologies such as and not limit to:
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Understanding of ITIL & SLA's
Leadership and Team Management skill.
Project Management Skill
a. Microsoft 365 products and service,
b. Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Manager, SCCM
c. Microsoft Entra ID,
d. Laptop & mobile devices (IOS & Android) provisioning.
e. Skills in deploying Windows 11 SOE images, applications and updates to workstation using Intune / SCCM
