Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to add a TEMPEST Engineer/Principal TEMPEST Engineer to its Specialty Engineering Team located in Huntsville, AL in support of the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This position is for a systems engineer familiar with design and testing for TEMPEST compliance. The selected candidate will be supporting efforts within the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) team. This role will be located in Huntsville, Alabama and may offer a competitive relocation package

In this role, you can expect to:

 Make significant contributions to a team of engineers in TEMPEST testing and analysis.Conduct TEMPEST testing in accordance with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02.Support the program’s TEMPEST SME – participating in frequent customer interactions.Assist in the development of the TEMPEST Control Plan. Develop TEMPEST test plans and test procedures.Review TEMPEST testing results.Provide consultation on TEMPEST best practices with various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).


Basic Qualifications:

2 years understanding of some of the following TEMPEST Specs: NSTISSAM TEMPEST 1/92, CNSSAM TEMPEST 1-13, CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02, AMSG 720B, AMSG 788A, AMSG 784, BTR:01:210, NATO SDIP-27.2 years of ensuring systems and equipment meet NSTISSAM TEMPEST 1/92, CNSSAM TEMPEST 1-13, CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02 and other TEMPEST requirements.Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 yearsMust be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.2 years solving problems and drive tasks to completion2 years presenting engineering findings orally and in written technical reports and presentations T2 TEMPEST Systems Engineer:  A minimum of 2 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Software discipline from an accredited university;0 Years with MastersT3 Principal TEMPEST Systems Engineer:  A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Software discipline from an accredited university; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Years with PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in fast-paced work environment and ability to work in a team environment.Hands on experience using various lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, RF antennas, etc.Prior experience with missile programs.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $85,400.00 - $140,000.00Salary Range 2: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
