Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Structural Dynamics Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get to Do:As part of the Sentinel AVE Loads & Environments team you will get to perform loads development (primary structure and component level), shock and vibration analysis, and component and system level testing and data evaluation.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 12 Years with Bachelors in Science; 10 Years with Masters; 8 Years with PhD
Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government DoD Secret Clearance
Expert knowledge and/or experience with structural dynamics analysis of spacecraft, aircraft, or missiles
Expert in the use of MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulation
Expert in Modal Transient Analysis in Nastran (or equivalent)
Experience evaluating designs using rigid body or flexible body analysis methods and tools
Proficiency with modern substructure modeling and assembly technology and component mode synthesis methods such as Craig-Bampton sub structuring
Experience with planning and execution of vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock tests for aerospace flight hardware
Ability and experience owning tasks, and driving the team to closure quickly, and efficiently
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering program or equivalent from an accredited college/university
Experience working strategic or tactical missile programs
Experience with SEA and SEA tools such was wave6
Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
