Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems is seeking a User Experience Engineer to support Human Factors engineering efforts for development of SW User Interfaces as part of the Specialty Engineering Human Systems Integration (HSI) team.  This position will be a part of the Sentinel Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) replacement) development contract. This role will be in Roy, Utah and may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for ICBM Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

The selected candidate will be a member of the Human Factors (HF) specialization for software user interfaces (UI) design efforts for the HSI team. They will interact/communicate with the element and product level teams in the technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability/effectiveness analyses for total systems.  Human Factors analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, and test. The HFE ensures requirements allocation and interface definition studies translate to customer requirements for hardware and software HSI specification and could require functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detail trade studies.

Basic Qualifications:

Educational background in psychology, human factors, mechanical engineering, or HCI related field from an accredited university, and at least 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Years with PhD. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree3 yrs Experience in Human Factors Engineering/Human Systems Integration with an emphasis on Human Machine Interface (HMI) design and evaluation.3 yrs Detailed knowledge of MIL-STD-1472 and its application

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience conducting anthropometric evaluationsFamiliarity with human modeling and simulation in NX/Jack, IMPRINTExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Experience on an Agile Software Development Team  Experience in fast-paced work environment and ability to work in a team environmentStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to segment, program and customer communityAbility to solve problems, analyze test results, drive tasks to completionDemonstrated experience with prototyping/wire-framing tools

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
