The opportunity


The SEO Optimization Engineer is a functional expert in the field of SEO optimization, web development and analytics as it relates to the business objectives of Asurion.  This role would require both expertise in both SEO strategies and web development. The SEO Optimization Engineer will work directly with the engineering team along with stakeholders across marketing and analytics to align on SEO priorities, implement SEO best practices within code design and monitor overall SEO compliance.

Contribute to website codebase with maintainable code in a timely fashionWork closely with data to analyze, report and optimize SEO performance, making data-driven decisions to enhance the programUse SEO tools to monitor, analyze and optimize search performanceCollaborate with marketing, analytics and engineering teams to implement SEO best practices and improve organic search performanceOptimize website architecture, internal linking and navigation for improved crawling and indexing for search enginesConduct detailed SEO audits to identify issues related to site speed, mobility, and other technical factorsWork directly with and mentor developers on SEO best practices for implementation in coding and site architectureStay up to date with the latest SEO trends, updates and best practices to ensure that websites remain competitive and in good standing with search enginesMonitor SEO performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop data-driven strategies

What to bring

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript1 or more years of experience being a technical leader for junior staffDeep understanding of software development with the ability to effectively communicate with developers, engineering leaders, and product leadersSEO experience with a strong background in SEO content strategyStrong analytical skills with the ability to work with data and make informed decisionsExperience with performance optimization tools such as Lighthouse and PageSpeed InsightsStrong understanding of web development frameworks (e.g., React, Vue)Experience with structure data markup (e.g., JSON) and schema.org knowledgeIn-depth understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factorsExperience in technical SEO elements including sitemaps, canonical tags, hreflang and meta tagsExcellent communication and teamwork skills to work with cross-functional teamsEvidence based SEO methodologyFamiliarity with SEO practices for JavaScript frameworks

Experience and education: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.3 or more years of software development experience required

10-20% domestic/international travel required.
