Position Summary

Under the direction of the Security Lieutenant, direct and supervise Security Officers involved in monitoring casino property, facilities, and equipment to maintain a safe and secure environment for casino and patrons.

 Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Supervises, coordinates and directs the work of Security Guards. Counsels with direct reports/team members and recommends disciplinary action(s). Trains team members regarding work assignments and casino procedures. Assigns Security Officers assignments and locations. Enforces all general and specific security special orders and directives. Provides a safe and secure environment for team members and patrons. Reviews reported violations, conducts investigations and takes appropriate action. Oversees the inspection and monitoring of all security alarm systems, lights, fire and safety units. Assigns Security Officers to patrol outside Casino premises reporting any problems/violations. Assigns Security Officers to provide security for cashiers and other team members transporting cash. Checks and verifies the ages of suspected minors. Ensures that patrons/guests meet minimum age and other entry requirements. Ensures that only authorized personnel enters secure areas. Assigns team members to deliver materials and/or escort team members/patrons to private vehicles, busses or other locations on or off casino property. Prepares and approves detailed activity and related departmental reports. Contacts proper authorities in emergencies; i.e., Chief Operating Officer, Chief of Security, General Managers, Sandia Tribal Police, BIA, etc. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

   Education And Experience  

Required

High School Diploma or GED certification. Six (6) months of Sandia Resort & Casino Security experience or three (3) years Security experience. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Note:  Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. 

License/Certifications/Registrations

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening. Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico driver’s license. Ability to obtain and maintain any other licenses and/or certifications as determined by management.

Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

Lifting

Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.

Pulling

Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Pushing

Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.

Walking

Job requirements include, in the performance of duties, walking throughout the work area, on various work surfaces throughout internal or external locations.

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Standing

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Stooping

Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required. Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions. Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
