Job Description

Engaging service, delicious cuisine and distinctive surroundings make every special event a truly memorable affair. Showcase your service and organization strengths as Banquet Server where your attention to detail, safety and quality will help “set the stage” for a successful group function.

Hourly Rate:  $14.73

What you will be doing:

Serve, clear and re-set tables in a timely manner, while adhering to Fairmont Hotels and Resorts standardsAssist guest regarding menu items in an informative and helpful wayHave full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methodsEnsure that overall cleanliness and maintenance of our banquet venues exceeds expectationEnsure the delivery of excellent service in banquet functions and meeting eventsSet-up and breakdown of functions and meeting eventsProvide any service required by the guests on the banquet floorCheck service stations for necessary equipment and set up: food, beverages, ice, dishes, and utensils; replenish as neededAdhere to the State of Hawaii food handling safety standards Maintain atmosphere of aloha spirit by providing engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service to our discerning guestsFocus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesBe knowledgeable of the island, our resort and its offerings in order to be our guests’ trusted guideCarry out duties in accordance with company policies/procedures to ensure safety and security of guests and colleagues, including reporting suspicious persons and lost and found itemsPromote and enforce health and safety awareness as well as have a complete understanding of the emergency proceduresFollow hotel and departmental policies, procedures and service standards
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

One year of Food & Beverage experiencePrevious experience in luxury hotel environment desirableAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesAbility to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentAbility to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team

Certifications or Licenses: 

Tuberculosis CertificationHawaii Food Safety CertificationMaui Liquor Card
