Job Title: Server Main Funtion: Serve Resident Meals Reports To: Dining Room Manager Duties and Responsibilities: + Responsible for dining area set ups and clearing tables + Explains menu items available to residents with knowledge of food preparation and ingredients. + Takes meal and beverage orders from residents. + Serves meals and beverages to residents according to established rules of etiquette in a formal setting. + Checks regularly with residents throughout meal to inquire as to additional needs; replenish beverages etc. + Upon completion of meal; will offer dessert items; coffee, tea, etc. + Ensure accurate accounting practices when posting charges to resident accounts utilizing P.O.S. system. + Will perform other duties as assigned. Education: High School Students permitted, otherwise High School Diploma/GED preferred Contacts: Contact with residents, families and guests. Contact with staff members from all departments. Working Conditions: Modern kitchen, dining area and equipment. Physical Demands: Walks/stands through entire shift. Job Hazards: Normal kitchen hazards such as wet floors, cuts, burns, lifts trays. Safety: Will follow safe work practices in accordance with housing complex health and safety policies.
