Job Title:                      Banquet Server/Set up/Cashier

FLSA Status:                 Part time $16 per hour

Department:                 Food & Beverage                                

Reports to:                   Banquet Manager

Jekyll Island Convention Center, an ASM Global managed facility, has an immediate opening for part-time banquet servers.

Position Summary:

This position provides a high quality catering service for banquets.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or olderMust be able to work unsupervisedMust have attention to detailMust have good oral communication skillsMust have strong customer service skillsMust be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected eventsMust have strong interpersonal skillsMust be results driven, follow direction and ask questions for clarification if neededMust be able to work flexible hours.     

Major Responsibilities:

Assist with collecting all banquet equipment to include flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each eventPrepares garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breadsClean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etcAssist with preparation and set-up of event room when necessaryPrepare tables with place settings as instructedPrepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the standard drink recipesMaintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beveragesEstablish and maintain positive client relationshipsBreakdown tables and banquet equipment after each eventClean and return serving pieces to proper storage areaPerforms cash handling and/or cashiering functions based on demandPerform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

Daily lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. Up to 10 minutes at a time.Constant reaching, standing, walking and stoopingPerforming work through repetitive eye/hand coordinationMust be able to balance and have good manual dexterityMust be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected eventsMust be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
