Position Summary:

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is looking for a talented Server Administrator II to take charge of staging, implementing, and maintaining our Windows and Linux servers. In this vital role, you'll oversee domain, print, file, and application servers, ensuring robust backup procedures and high network performance.

Core Responsibilities:

Deploy and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and availability. Manage domain, print, file, and application servers to support critical healthcare operations. Ensure consistent, reliable backups and implement disaster recovery protocols. Troubleshoot Windows server issues and provide expert administration support. Collaborate with Application Analysts to deploy new systems, perform upgrades, and troubleshoot applications. Provide guidance on server security, recommending and implementing changes to uphold top-tier network security. Work with IS staff to ensure proper network reliability and performance. Maintain knowledge of TCP/IP, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Systems Management Server. Stay up to date with networking technologies, including SAN, NAS, Cisco, and VMware Virtual Infrastructure. Assist and mentor other IT staff on server administration skills and tools. Be part of a 24x7 on-call rotation, responding to technical issues to ensure smooth operations. Support the Help Desk in resolving complex server-related issues. Adhere to department procedures and guidelines set by Senior LAN Administrators and Department Managers.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Associate Degree in Information Technology or a related field.

Experience:

5+ years of network administration experience in medium to large-scale networks (at least 200 nodes preferred). 2-3 years of desktop support experience in large networks (at least 1000 nodes) may be substituted.

Certifications:

Microsoft MCSE or MCIT certification.

Preferred Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related field.

Experience:

5-10 years of relevant IT experience, particularly in server and network management.

Certifications:

Additional Microsoft MCSE or MCIT certifications preferred.
