Overview of the role
The Server Assistant at Elevage Soho Kitchen & Bar plays an important role in delivering a seamless and high-quality dining experience. Working in collaboration with servers and other restaurant staff, the Server Assistant ensures that all guest needs are met promptly by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper service flow in the dining area. This position is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a passion for fine dining.
What you have
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is advantageous, though not required.Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining or upscale restaurant, is a plus.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of service.Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.Strong customer service skills.Positive attitude, punctuality, and a willingness to assist in all areas of restaurant service.Ability to stand, walk, and lift items for extended periods.Proficient in using technology, such as tablets, for service-related tasks.Must have reliable transportation.Must have open schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.What you’ll do
Support Server Team: Assist servers by clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables efficiently between courses and after guest departure.Guest Interaction: Greet guests with a welcoming attitude, provide water service, replenish bread and other table necessities, and communicate with guests to ensure satisfaction.Dining Area Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, including clearing plates, glassware, and utensils, wiping down tables and chairs, and sweeping the floor as needed.Stocking: Ensure that service stations are stocked with necessary items such as silverware, glassware, plates, napkins, and condiments.Coordination with Back-of-House: Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food to tables, coordinating with servers to ensure correct placement and any special requests are fulfilled.Pre-Shift and Post-Shift Duties: Assist in restaurant setup before service, including arranging tables, setting up side stations, and ensuring all areas are guest-ready. Post-service, help with breakdown, cleaning, and organizing for the next shift.Adhere to Health and Safety Standards: Comply with restaurant health and safety regulations, including food handling practices, cleaning procedures, and overall sanitation.Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team to create a smooth and enjoyable experience for guests, communicating clearly with servers, chefs, and management.Physical Demand
