Position: Server High Performance Compute Microarchitecture Lead
We are seeking experienced CPU Subsystem Leads to join our team. If you possess a deep understanding of CPU system design and have a passion for architecting and designing complex, high performance and low power designs at advanced process nodes, we would be pleased to hear from you. This critical role involves microarchitecture of the next-generation CPU system by collaborating with other CPU and SoC architects to optimize overall Power, Performance, Area (PPA) efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of CPU and SoC architecture for datacenter SoCs, including experience in microarchitecture and design of coherent CPU subsystems. CPU subsystem microarchitecture involves design and deployment of data, control and debug features using interconnects, power management, RAS, and debug and trace blocks. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for excelling in this position.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Over 10 years of experience in designing a high-performance compute subsystem for CPU, GPU, NPU, etc.Experience in micro-architecture and/or design of one or more functional blocks of a CPU/SoC like L2/L3, directory, interconnects, etc.Strong expertise in power management of a high-performance system including management of active power, idle low power and silicon/system limitsStrong expertise in defining and developing debug features associated with high performance designsStrong technical documentation skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Preferred Qualifications
Master's in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.15+ years in CPU and/or SoC Design.Expertise in the design of multi-GHz processors with focus on critical path optimizationExperience with ARM ISA and AMBA protocols including CHIExperience in design of coherent interconnects is a plusProven track record in hyperscale data center solutions.Strong understanding DFx technologies like DFT, DFY, DFMExpertise with developing RAS featuresKey Responsibilities
Take on a leadership role in developing the micro-architecture and design of high-performance CPU subsytemDevelop High-Level Architecture and Micro-Architecture specifications that can translate to RTL design.Deliver successful RTL design in collaboration with Design Verification and Physical Design teams.Prepare and present clear and comprehensive technical documentation to meet the needs of stakeholders, including engineering teams, senior management and internal partners.Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$233,000.00 - $349,600.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
