Description:  The candidate will be part of a Systems Administration team responsible for the maintenance and support of the Solaris Unix and Linux Server information systems located at the HP Enterprise Services facility in Herndon, VA. o Candidates will have substantial experience in diverse IT environments and how security controls and Best Business Practices are applied to manage complex server solutions, preferably in an enterprise level environment.

Skill set should include experience with most or all of the following: 
 
o The candidate must have a minimum DoD Secret clearance. 
o Experience installing and configuring Sun Solaris 10 and 11. 
o Ability to read and write shell scripts. 
o Experience with PuTTY and Open Text Exceed for X-client solution. 
o Experience hardening Unix and Linux Servers for DISA STIGS. 
o Prior experience with tape libraries and backup software such as NetBackup 7.6. 
o Prior experience with IBM Blades and SANs helpful. 
o Racking and Stacking Servers (ability to lift 40 pounds). 
o Experience cabling Servers and Network Devices. 
o Prior experience configuring and administering a NAS or SAN device. 
o Experience connecting database/server shares/instances to a SAN/NAS device. 
o Experience installing and administrating VMWare 5.5 software, creating instances (virtual servers), and configuring same. 
o Experience hardening rack and virtual servers in support of Certification and Accreditation activities. 
o Ability to formally document all configuration processes and procedures.
