**PLACE OF WORK** **: Room Service area, Guest Rooms, Kitchen areas.** **JOB OVERVIEW** **: Delivers food and beverage orders to guest rooms according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently. Also assists in the maintenance of the Room Service area and equipment.** **REPORTS TO** **: Room Service Manager, Captain and/or Outlets Manager.** **KEY RELATIONSHIPS:** **Intern: Room Service Staff, Bar Staff, Kitchen/Stewarding Staff, Restaurant Staff, Engineering, Housekeeping Staff, Front Desk Staff, Sales Department.** **External: Hotel Guests and Visitors.** **STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS** **: Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.** **Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves, other employees or guests.** **Qualifications:** **Essentials** 1. **Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages** 2. **Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.** 3. **Ability to provide legible communication.** 4. **Previous F&B experience** **Desirable:** 1. **High school graduate, some college** 2. **Experience in Room Service.** 3. **Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service** 4. **Certification in alcohol awareness program** 5. **Food handling certification** 6. **Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish or French.** **Skills:** **Essential:** 1. **Ability to understand guests' service needs.** 2. **Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration and think clearly when providing service to 2 guest rooms within any given period of time.** 3. **Ability to focus on details.** 4. **Ability to maintain good coordination while serving orders quickly.** 5. **Ability to exert physical effort in transporting trays and tables from service area to guests.** 6. **Ability to endure abundant physical movements throughout the work areas.** 7. **Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision** 8. **Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.** **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** **:** 1. **Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in Room Service.** 2. **Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.** 3. **Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for drinks.** 4. **Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, preparation method, ingredients, sauces, preparation time, garnishes, presentation and prices.** 5. **Maintain complete knowledge of guest room layout, locations and room numbers/names.** 6. **Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.** 7. **Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment, use equipment only as intended.** 8. **Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures.** 9. **Complete opening side duties as assigned:** **a) Check quality and amount of all Room Service stock and supplies using checklist.** **b) Fold/stack Room Service napkins.** **c) Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to Room Service.** **d) Set tables and trays according to service standards.** **e) Set up all condiments (butter, jellies, syrups, juices) and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) according to service standards.** **f) Ensure a sufficient supply of all silverware, glassware and chinaware for service.** **g) Check cleanliness and condition of all equipment for use in Room Service area, rectify any deficiencies.** **h) Ensure all flowers and decorative items are fresh for guest use.** **WAGE** **: $7.00/hour plus tips** Don't quite meet every single requirement, but still believe you'd be a great fit for the job?
