Job Duties

Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
Utilize and manage the work order system
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures, and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.
Understands and adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.
Familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.

OTHER JOB DUTIES
Performs other related duties as required.

BASIC COMPETENCIES

Education:
Certification as IS Technician is preferred.

Experience
Proven experience as IS Technician or relevant position, healthcare related experience preferred.

Skills
Great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
Thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems.
Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
Strong administrative skills.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for OPS.
Good organizational skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Must be computer literate.
Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.

Off hours coverage can be on weekends & holidays
