Service Engineer - Midland

Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Division: Weir Minerals
Location: UK Midlands, Remote

Purpose of Role: This is a field based role, working from home and the post holder will be required to cover in and around the Midlands area of the UK and beyond from time to time. The role will involve visiting client sites carrying out planned and preventive maintenance on pumps / cyclones as well as reactive maintenance and commissioning. The Service Engineer will be expected to deliver high level on-site customer support, maintenance and repair services to existing and future clients. There will also be a requirement for occasional weekend working and spending time away from home. A Smartphone, Laptop and company van will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Maintenance and ServicingCarry out Service work on all types of Weir equipment on site, or in a Service Centre, in a timely manner.To complete concise and accurate technical reports on work carried out on site using our FSM software.Fault finding within processing equipment in (complex) customer installations with possibly little information.Produce detailed technical reports on fault diagnosis, inspection and repair of Weir products.Using condition monitoring tools in order to achieve high standard preventative and predictive maintenance levels.Laser alignment of pump sets, gearboxes, pulley’s, etc.May be required to attend breakdowns at very short notice, some overtime and weekend working will be required.Commissioning of high value minerals processing equipment.




Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Experience in engineering and maintenance within Sand & Gravel Plant or process industries would be advantageousKnowledge of minerals processing industry and/or aggregates, power, chemical & process industriesModern Apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 or Engineering degreeMechanical / Electrical backgroundDriving license is essentialGood Mechanical, Industrial and Electrical system understandingA good knowledge of pump maintenance and preferably all slurry processing products
