Baker Tilly is looking to successfully recruit a Service Line Business Partner to play a critical role in driving business growth and operational excellence by leveraging advanced pricing analytics and strategic insights. Pricing is a key focus area requiring deep specialization in pricing tools, revenue optimization, and business strategy alignment. As we have seen through prior experience, pricing improvements can deliver significant results and therefore building expertise in this space offers true opportunity.

This individual will have a strong track record in pricing transformations, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional leadership to enhance revenue and profitability. The Business Partner will have been “in the trenches” designing proposals and pitching projects to clients in professional services organizations and have a strong understanding of the ongoings in their respective Service Line. This individual could come from a consulting/accounting organization with practical experience in pricing, negotiations, and analytics-supported decision making. This individual will have a record of successfully building internal relationships, establishing working rapport, and exerting influence in a collaborative environment. With this expertise, Baker Tilly can expand the capabilities, tactics, and tools our clients need to leapfrog their competition and effectively engage their target audience at all stages of their pricing transformation journey.

The role will focus on service line-specific activities and on capability-building efforts. This position will have a Service-Line-specific focus with some firm-wide responsibilities for supporting the central pricing capability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Client & Business PartneringPartner with service lines to execute firm-wide pricing strategies that drive profitability and market competitiveness.Develop and maintain senior-level advisory relationships, acting as a key liaison between Pricing CoE and service line leaders.Align pricing recommendations with project proposals and pricing, ensuring insights drive business growth.Strategic Pricing & AnalyticsOversee the implementation and continuous improvement of new pricing and discounting guidance.Implement usage of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track pricing performance and generate actionable insights within respective service line.Lead the analysis of pricing trends, data analytics, and best practices for service lines to improve pricing performance.Ensure data integrity and alignment with governance standards in pricing frameworks.Capability/Practice BuildingImplement standardized pricing tools and frameworks tailored to service line needs.Lead service line training sessions to improve knowledge of pricing trends, data analytics, and best practices.Support Service Line Leader’s vision by positioning pricing strategies effectively with senior executives.Team Management/ApprenticeshipCommunicate with Pricing CoE, tool designers, and service line leadership on project progress, key relationships, and team development.Serve as a consultative influencer to help Service Line move towards compliance with the firm-wide pricing goals.Mentor and upskill team members, fostering a culture of analytical excellence.Contribute to internal practice-building efforts, including recruiting, professional development, and training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in high-performing teams and a demonstrated ability to manage pricing processes and negotiations. They will have a proven track record of achieving measurable results and collaborating with senior stakeholders.

Candidates will possess the following professional expertise:Technical ExpertiseExperience implementing innovative pricing strategies across multiple dimensions of a business – service lines, industries, and geographies, preferred.Strong capability in pricing organization design, roles & responsibilities, process redesign and KPIs, preferred.Familiarity with commercial tools such as Salesforce, Workday, Power BI, and Excel to help monitor and interpret results and identify improvement opportunities, required.Analytics and ModelingStrong experience in revenue management, pricing analytics, or related fields, required.Proficiency in pricing analysis, variability modeling, and what-if analysis, required.Expertise in data manipulation, exploratory data analysis, and visualization using tools such as Python, R, and SQL, preferred.Commercial SuccessExperience and technical expertise (see above) will lend credibility when providing input and support to commercial activities, required.Senior presence in meetings and high caliber client/communications skills. Influential with senior executives on relevant topics and ‘holds own’ with senior pricing experts and customer organizations in a range of expertise and programs (i.e., project pricing, launch pricing, innovative price models, price increase programs, discounting, value pricing, and KPIs), required.Broad understanding of business strategy, organization and capability development issues and answers across industry and functional domains; preference for Professional services (Consulting / Accounting) experience, preferred.Experience working with large-scale sales organizations, preferred.Ability to help build out IP, monetize it, and implement the product roadmap to improve over time. Specifically, be able to assist in the development of tools to help increase our ability to be seen as pricing specialists, required.Experience organizing and facilitating client and internal team workshops and brainstorms, required.Team ManagementProvide insight on how to “scale up” the right team and partners to provide depth and credibility with senior client teams, required.Experience in a role working with senior client-facing leadership at a leading consulting or accounting firm, preferred.Experience implementing policies, strategies, and tactics in their division, required.

The compensation range for this role is $137,340 to $297,570. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
