Description:
The shop Service Manager position is responsible for managing the day-to-day workings of a heavy truck repair facility. This role is responsible for running an efficient and profitable service center with an emphasis on safety. The incumbent must have a good general knowledge of this industry and knowledge of mechanical theories. He or she must also have the ability to demonstrate this knowledge both verbally and written, and must have the ability to communicate a diagnosis, methods of repair and other technical verbiage to other people within or outside the organization.
Compensation: Salary range from $65K-$85K plus annual bonus - This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
+ Work directly with the customer to understand their needs. Conduct customer intake calls when necessary.
+ Communicate the initial diagnosis and repairs needed to provide an estimate to the customer.
+ Assigning the best qualified technician to perform the repair.
+ Must have experience in, or have the ability to learn LINQ, Wheeltime, ICS, and Microsoft software.
+ Prioritize time spent on the shop floor assisting the technicians with repair issues.
+ Set expectations for technician and ensure they understand the assignment.
+ Understand the shops workload and assign work to each technician prior to start of every shift.
+ Communicate with customers daily. Keep them informed of their repair.
+ Build and maintain good working relationships with coworkers and customers.
+ Ensure that repair jobs are invoiced when work has been completed
Education and Work Experience:
+ Minimum high school diploma required.
+ An Associates Degree in management preferred.
+ At least three years supervisory experience in a heavy truck service role is mandatory.
+ Must have previous Heavy Duty Diesel Technical experience.
+ Must demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge.
Accountabilities:
+ Operate with integrity and maintain professionalism.
+ Possess good leadership skills, provide direction to technicians.
+ Promote and demonstrate safe work practices.
+ Maintain a clean and organized shop.
+ Communicate with the General Manager on a regular basis.
+ Align your work to meet corporate goals.
+ Prioritize tasks and allocate resources to service customer’s equipment.
+ Recommend reward, discipline, and promotion recommendations of technicians to the General Manager.
+ Encourage open communication, cooperation and the sharing of knowledge in the shop.
+ Provide timely feedback and follow up.
+ Continuously monitor technician performance and areas for improvement. Assign training where needed.
+ Empower employees to feel valued, respected, and trusted.
+ This position reports to the General Manager.
+ Other job duties may be assigned without advance notice.
+ This is an exempt position. Salary is based on experience and knowledge of the industry.
