Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement. **Position Purpose:** Performs field investigation and service in response to customer complaints and meter work. Collects water samples when needed. Reports to the T&D Superintendent. Responsible for enforcing/complying with all Company Environmental Health and Safety Procedures. **Primary Duties/Responsibilities:** + Completing work orders by turning water on and/or off, setting, removing, repairing and/or replacing residential water meters and recording data. + Investigating billing complaints in the field by confirming readings and checking for leaks or main breaks. + Monitoring cross-connection control and/or locating service lines. + Delivering notices for termination of service to delinquent customer accounts and attempting customer contact for collection. + Performing routine meter box maintenance, ensuring lids are secure, meter registers are legible, and sufficient access to meters exists. + Responding to customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. + Performing duties and responsibilities of Meter Reader as necessary. + Assist with T&D Operations as needed, setting up job sites with required signage and traffic cones, traffic control, and assisting T&D staff with any other required work as needed. + Assist Chief Well Field Operator as needed with treatment operations, flushing hydrants, heavy lifting may be required. + Overtime as part of an on-call schedule is required. **Qualifications** **Education/Experience/Background:** + High School Diploma/GED is required. + 1 - 2 years of field work experience. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:** + Ability to work 8-hour day shift Monday - Friday with weekend availability + Professional attitude oriented towards customer satisfaction. + Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task. + Autonomy and initiative. + Great communication skills and customer service. + Basis Computer skills. + Ability to read and interpret maps and field cards. + Basic understanding of water distribution systems. **Required Certification/Licenses/Training:** + Valid RI State driver's license. + Valid RI Distribution Class 1 Operators License or ability to obtain within 12 months. **Physical Requirements:** + Physical ability to perform field services including during inclement weather. **Additional Information** We are an Equal Opportunity Employer!
