**Job Title: Service Plumber**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled service plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will study building plans and working drawings to determine the necessary work aids and installation sequence. You will inspect structures to identify obstructions that could weaken the structure during pipe installation, cut openings in walls and floors, bend pipes to required angles, and assemble and install various types of pipes and fittings. You will also be responsible for joining pipes using various methods, testing systems with water or air, and maintaining plumbing systems.
**Responsibilities**
+ Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
+ Inspect structures to identify obstructions to be avoided during pipe installation.
+ Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
+ Bend pipes to required angles using a pipe-bending machine or manually.
+ Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes made of various materials including metals and nonmetals.
+ Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.
+ Test plumbing systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to ensure system integrity.
+ Maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
+ Understand all contract documents and specifications.
**Essential Skills**
+ 6+ years of residential or commercial service plumbing experience.
+ Proficiency in construction, plumbing, mechanical systems, and blueprint reading.
+ Skill in piping, industrial plumbing, installations, and troubleshooting.
+ Experience with various materials including PVC, glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.
+ Familiarity with OSHA 10 standards.
+ Ownership of standard plumbing tools.
+ Clean driving record (required for driving company vehicle post-contract).
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in commercial construction.
+ Knowledge of soldering and pipe fitting.

**Work Environment**
You will be servicing clients in buildings ranging from light commercial spaces to industrial facilities within a 60-mile radius of Knoxville. The position involves working a rotating on-call schedule after becoming a permanent employee and driving a company vehicle. The work environment is dynamic and requires adaptability to different facility conditions.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
