The Field Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising and scheduling all aspects of field service operations within an Area, including safety and regulatory compliance, staffing, employee development, and assisting in ensuring that all Area revenue and profit goals are achieved. Other duties include but are not limited to, enforcing company standards and procedures, ensuring overall operational efficiencies, customer service, oversight of the quality of service provided, and assisting with field service work including training and mentoring employees, commissioning, troubleshooting, diagnostics, servicing and repairing equipment.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties Work directly with the local Branch Manager or Regional Manager in coordinating the activities of all Technicians assigned to the area, including supervising, assisting, and monitoring their work / job assignments. Ensure Technician assignments are efficiently organized in order to provide excellent service to our customers, utilize and enhance the skills and experience that the individual technician has, and minimize driving and response time. Assist with training Technicians in technical/service competencies as well as the processing of all required documentation and oversee major decisions. Monitor field service expenses, vehicle maintenance expenses, and field service reports. Ensure that the appropriate HSE accommodations and precautions are implemented and followed. Communicate regularly with the Branch Manager or Regional Manager on the status of Area personnel, staffing levels, productivity, and any developments regarding service issues or customer concerns. Respond to customer requests and address customer needs proactively while representing the company in a professional manner at all times; develop and maintain internal and external customer relationships. Lead and perform overhauls, new unit installations, startups, and diagnostics on all major OEM’s independently. Interpret Compressor Performance and calculate engine horsepower. Teach and demonstrate knowledge of proper purging and loading practices/procedures. Identify and stop activities that are unsafe for personnel or the environment when they occur or about to occur. Teach and demonstrate proper technique of coupling alignments using both Laser and dial indicator methods. Teach how to decipher P&ID's, Blueprints, Installation Instructions, and Technical Manuals. Encourage, develop, and ensure a safe work environment. Other duties assigned by manager.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly, as well as, indirectly manages employees in accordance with the EFX policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Scope may include supervision of direct reports as well as indirect supervision of their direct reports and general leadership of field service within the organization.Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and advanced vocational/technical training. Must have 10+ years applicable experience Prefer certification from CAT/ Waukesha (or equivalent) or specific experience related to: CAT Gas I CAT Gas II CAT Electrical Ariel Basic Ariel Mechanical CAT 3500 ADEM III and IV CAT 3500ULB and J Waukesha VHP CAT 3600 ADEM III and IV CAT 3600 Master Mechanic CAT Failure Analysis Waukesha 9390 Must also stay current on all updated OEM model specific training. Valid driver’s license. Demonstrate intermediate proficiency with a personal computer and common applicable functions/programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and able to learn company specific applications. Knowledge and ability to accurately complete advanced level maintenance, repairs, and installation activities unassisted. Strong mechanical and electrical abilities with knowledge and experience to perform complex service, installation and maintenance tasks. Extensive electrical /control panel knowledge and capable of reading schematics, troubleshooting, installation, and diagnostics of all major OEM panels (Murphy, Altronic, Alan Bradley) Understand, install and tune all major systems controls related to compressor packages and supplied off skid equipment. Must have his/her own tools of the trade. (With exceptions of specialty or OEM specific diagnostic equipment) Use CAT ET or equivalent for another OEM’s Understand how to use CAT Gas Engine Rating Pro (GERP) Understand and be capable of tune engines to meet proper engine performance and emissions. Accurately operate emissions test equipment (Testo, ECOM). Provide preventative and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression. Advanced understanding of gas and oil properties, conditions, and theories. Advanced understanding of compressor equipment types, models, and theory of operation. Advanced understanding of Installation, Assembly, Commissioning, Trouble Shooting and Repair procedures related to gas compressors. Thorough understanding of tooling utilized to install, maintain, and operate Gas Compressors and Production Equipment. (Dial indicators, Laser alignment tools, feeler gauges, Digital volts Ohm meter, Emissions test equipment, and Hydraulic torqueing equipment). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write legible, routine correspondence and to speak effectively as well as coherently with management and other employees. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of advanced engines, compressors, and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to understand and follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly/frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and Infrequently/occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and adverse outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
