POSITION SUMMARY 

 Performs repairs on Medium and Heavy duty trucks of any make or model. Has a basic knowledge of automotive mechanical systems that includes fundamental principles of mechanics. Works as an apprentice and helper to senior technicians; can assist in performing repairs with direct supervision. Completes selftraining associated with this training path at a rate as outlined within the training path. Strives to do the work assigned right the first time while completing tasks in a timely manner. Works harmoniously with management, co-workers, and customers to ensure that the customer receives a best-in-class repair experience. In all actions works to assist all positions within the dealership and department to sell hours. 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES 

 • Completes training as assigned • Completes Preventive Maintenance, systems inspections, and basic chassis repairs with oversight • Can perform general repairs on basic truck mechanical systems with supervision. • Communicates with co-workers, management, and customers in a professional and positive manner. • Presents one’s self with a professional appearance, supports safe working habits, and complies with all company policies. • Foster teamwork within the department and with all other departments. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor 

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE 

 • Reports directly to the Service Forman or designee 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

 • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);  • Two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

 REQUIRED SKILLS 

 • Effective written communication skills that allow for every opportunity to sell hours. • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and flow-charts used to diagnose truck systems. 

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Position requires extended periods of standing, walking, stooping and lifting.
