Locomotive Servicing Component Overhaul

Service Technician – Mechanical Electrical

UGL's Manufacturing Maintenance business is experiencing increased growth within our locomotive and rolling stock division based at our operation in Newcastle NSW, with this we are looking for Heavy Maintenance Service Technicians of a Mechanical or Electrical background to join the team.

These roles will be offered on a permanent fulltime basis working on a 9-day fortnight, 76-hour week. Potential for day afternoon shift, but will be discussed at interview.

About the role

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the primary purpose is to perform scheduled service work, fault finding and troubleshooting tasks on locomotives at our Hunter Valley Maintenance Centre on Clyde Street in Hamilton North.

About You

Australian recognised trade certificate and hold a Certificate of Proficiency – Mechanical or ElectricalWorking experience in a maintenance environment is essential – Preferably rollingstock maintenanceForklift license is desirable but not a necessity.Overhead crane licence desirable but not a necessity.Lathe operational experience desirable but not a necessityStrong written and verbal communication skills.Reliable punctual.General rail and locomotive experience is desirable but not a necessity.Commitment to a safe work environment and practices.Work autonomously and in a team environment.Focused on quality work customer service excellence.
