Service Training Instructor - Winnipeg

Ford of Canada has eight Service Training Centres across the country which are staffed by Service Training Instructors (STI).  The STI assumes the responsibility of scheduling and training Ford/Lincoln Dealer technicians at the Ford Service Training Centres (STCs) across Canada.. Additionally, the position has responsibility for the primary assigned Service Training School (Winnipeg), is the regional contact for service training related expertise and support as well provides support to the Technical Training and Service Support activities within National Service Operations at Ford of Canada as required.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a crucial difference to the experience of customers and dealers by providing hands-on service technical training to dealership technicians.  Courses you will be responsible for are currently delivered mainly in an in-person classroom setting as well as a remote or distance learning format using video-conferencing systems.  While you will be assigned a ‘base’ Service Training Centre, (STC) significant travel to support training needs at other STCs will be required.

This position will be located out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Salary Grade 6-8.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Automotive Technician with Industry and/or Ford Accreditation (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained.  If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).Technical Automotive Training experience is an assetExperience in truck diesel engine repairs is an assetGood written and oral communications skills are requiredStrong communication and organizational skills, Strong organizational skills / Attention to details (must be self-starter)Ability to set schedules; manage time and multiple priorities‘High-energy’, persistent self-starter with the ability to proactively take responsibility for key programsWillingness to travel to other Ford locations to train or be trained - passport requiredA good work ethic and ability to work by yourself unsupervisedAbility to build strong relationships with different internal stakeholdersPrevious shop foreman/training experience would be an assetExpectation of minimum of 2 weeks travel per month

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bilingual (English/French) is beneficialProficient in Office365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Deliver classroom/distance learning courses in a variety of topics to dealership technicians at our Ford Service Training Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba according to established curriculums (this will include supporting training needs at other locations and can involve travel for a minimum of two weeks per month).Maintain Technical Training waitlists and schedules on a monthly basis.Be responsible for efficient running of assigned Service Training School including training/classroom/workshop supplies, equipment certifications, maintenance requests etc.Support development of technical training by participating in curriculum development team meetings for assigned specialties.Willingness to travel to other Ford locations to train or be trained - passport required.Provide assistance to Dealers and field staff on technical training related inquiries.Support the Dealers with the Technician and Shop Competency programs including administering and maintaining the Ford Technical Edit Deferral process for regional dealers.Provide support to local Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET) program as applicable.Support the National Service Operations at Ford of Canada in initiatives including technical recognition, retention, recruitment.
