This is a Surveyor position. This position is responsible for conducting investigations of alleged rule violations, abuse, and neglect.
This position requires overnight travel
Preferred Qualifications:
*Experience with reviewing documents for compliance.
*Experience interviewing facility staff and patients to determine compliance.
*Experience compiling data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and provides reports of compliance or non-compliance.

Summary
The Services and Program Licensing Specialist is responsible for inspecting and evaluating community-based programs for licensure approval or renewal. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.
Functions
Provides technical assistance and licensure standards for proposed and existing community-based programs serving the developmentally disabled. Evaluates proposed and existing programs by conducting on-site inspections of facilities and operations and submitting evaluation reports to supervisor. Coordinates licensure evaluation teams by selecting and directing team members on periodic review of programs. Develops and monitors corrective action plans to correct program deficiencies. Conducts and coordinates training and provides technical assistance to programs in needed areas. Analyzes program data and recommends licensing of specific programs within specified timeframes and assists in preparing reports to sectional administrators. Develops and submits new and revised procedures and standards for licensure of proposed and existing programs. Gathers and reviews current state and federal trends, standards, and legislation to ensure departmental compliance. Investigates alleged violations of standards by conducting on-site visits to monitor program operations and reviewing records. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of state and federal trends, standards, and legislation affecting community-based programs. Knowledge of departmental licensing standards and evaluation methods for related community-based programs. Knowledge of the principles and practices of community-based programs. Ability to prepare, present and review oral and written information and detailed reports. Ability to evaluate community-based programs and develop corrective action plans. Ability to provide technical assistance and make referrals as needed. Ability to confer with others concerning licensure criteria and make recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in social work, sociology or a related field; plus one year of experience working with human service programs, conducting research and inspections or investigations, or a related field.
Licenses
Must possess a valid Arkansas driverâÂÂs license.
