Student Financial Services Third Party Billing/Study Abroad Counselor

To provide quality service in the area of Student Financial Services for Belmont's internal and external customers.
Responsible for third party contracts, billing, and reconciliation Including certification of Tuition Assistance. In addition, responsible for reconciliation of both Tuition Assistance and Veterans Affairs education benefits and payments for service members. 

Responsible for third party contracts, billing, and reconciliation; including certification of tuition assistance, state educational assistance, outside sponsorships and scholarships. Post outside scholarships to student accounts and scanning documents into student files.Responsible for VA educational benefits and payments for service members and military affiliated dependents. Work with School Certifying Officer (SCO) to apply and reconcile VA payments and student benefits. Adjust accounts through the year as benefits are added or removed. Point of contact for SCO and Veterans and Military Affiliated students, for individual meetings and large group informational sessionsAssist in student account processes including cashiering, assist with drop/reinstate, supporting Belmont Central and EdFinancial, and monitoring accounts receivable and student accounts; Maintain departmental and university exemptions for special billing programs; specifically for third party, VA, and study abroad students. Utilize reporting tools and multiple different software to find data needed to assist customers. Responsible for study abroad exemptions, applying charges, scholarship committee meetings, certifications, tracking and maintaining payment registration. Attend and provide counseling for study abroad students at the Study Abroad Fair and informational meetings with students and study abroad department.Communicate with students and families to discuss any student account and general financial aid matters. Present and host workshops and informational sessions for students regarding Student Financial Services.Update Student Financial Services website before each semester to reflect updated dates and information for the SFS - Student Accounts webpages. Review and monitor SFS website throughout the year, adding updates and changes as needed. Create and add online forms to the SFS website and monitor forms received for Study Abroad, Third Party, and Veteran Affair students. Assist/participate in the delivery of presentations regarding Student Financial Services.Participate in professional organizations including attendance of professional conferences.The above statements describe the job’s essential responsibilities and requirements.
