Corning Shared Services (CSS) supports Corning’s businesses, through best-in-class and evolving operations, with a focus on actionable insights through evolving processes, ensuring compliance, and executing vital transactions.  We work hard to actively support Corning’s evolving businesses, eliminate manual processing of standard transactions, and act as a thought leader in the digital transformation to be a top talent destination inside and outside of Corning.

 

The HTR Analyst works as part of the payroll operations team to help ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant payroll processing. They work closely with payroll coordinators and leadership on issue resolution, advanced reporting, and other tasks to support the broader Shared Services North America vision of championing quality, continuous improvement, digital transformation, and talent development to succeed on both corporate objectives and business partner goals.

 

Key Responsibilities Support end to end payroll operations Provide internal and external customer support Use data mining, root cause analysis, and performance excellence to solve issues, propose solutions Compile metrics data for periodic reporting Manage standard and ad hoc external reporting requests Support quarter and year-end activities including tax processing Process entries for general ledger and maintain reconciliation files Participate in receivership and change initiatives to minimize operational disruptions Apply digital and performance excellence mindset to all activities Support employee onboarding and training efforts as needed Ensure adherence with all Corning Incorporated pay related policies Support SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) compliance and audit requests Escalate issues as appropriate to ensure timely resolution or crisis response Experiences/Education - Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Management 2+ years payroll experience Understanding of general accounting Rigorous approach to problem solving and analytics Knowledge of payroll processing and systems Technologically adept with strong excel skills Communicates effectively Experiences/Education - Desired Experience with ADP GlobalView/SAP Payroll UKG Time and Attendance knowledge Understanding of Shared Services/Finance Organizations Process oriented and methodical Performance Excellence – Greenbelt/Digital Acumen Payroll Association certification CPP/PCP or other
