The Shared Services Site Leader assumes responsibility for overseeing and managing the finance operations personnel in both India and KL, who provide support across various accounting operations, including GL accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A). In addition to possessing strong technical accounting skills, the Shared Services Site Leader is tasked with cultivating a positive and collaborative culture within the shared service center. They provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the finance teams, ensuring alignment with overall accounting objectives and goals. Furthermore, the Shared Services Site Leader promotes effective communication, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the shared service center, fostering a productive and efficient work environment. This role has a reporting line to Head of Life Finance Operations in Hong Kong.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Managing the day-to-day operations of accounting personnel for 7 countries in both India and KL at the specific site and working with the outsourcing partner, ensuring effective functioning. Balancing technical accounting expertise with the ability to foster a positive and collaborative culture within the shared service center. Establishing performance metrics, providing necessary training and resources, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the finance teams. Providing leadership and direction to the finance teams, ensuring alignment with the overall finance strategy and goals. Ensuring 3the team's alignment with the overall finance strategy, providing support and resources as needed, and monitoring performance towards financial goals. Developing and implementing streamlined processes for accurate and timely financial and operational reporting. Creating and maintaining a comprehensive weekly report and meeting touchpoint to provide visibility into key activities across workstreams, projects, and initiatives. Enhancing governance activities by standardizing documentation, streamlining processes, and ensuring consistency and efficiency. Developing a logical monthly governance schedule, proactively planning and coordinating meetings to ensure stakeholder availability, provide regular updates to local senior management. Establishing and managing a centralized document repository to organize and store governance decks and critical artifacts. Acting as a liaison between the shared service center and finance teams in local markets, facilitating efficient communication and knowledge sharing. Cooperating with countries finance on the SOX control and audit process.Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or other related disciplines required. CPA qualifications preferred. At least 12 years of progressively responsible financial business management experience in an insurance organization, preferably with shared services management experiences. Effective management of multiple priorities is essential as well as a strong attention to accuracy and detail. Demonstrate flexibility across multiple and diverse countries and cultures, and strong interpersonal skills to include a collaborative, “team player” style.
