The Opportunity:

As a Power Platform Developer at the U.S. Navy’s Ship Repair Facility Detachment Sasebo, you will work with SRF business users to gather requirements and build business application and data solutions using the U.S. Navy’s Flank Speed M365 Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Query, and Power BI). You will integrate and automate solutions that work with other apps across the M365 platform, such as SharePoint Online, Planner, Excel, and Teams. You will also provide system administration services for the Detachment’s Teams and SharePoint Online sites.

Responsibilities:

- Create Flank Speed SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive sites for SRF-JRMC Sasebo.

- Be the SharePoint Administrator once site is created, including managing the new site, creating and maintain Flank Speed Teams for codes, set permissions, and create and maintain the structure for the OneDrive environment.

- Train SRF-JRMC Sasebo personnel in utilizing Flank Speed tools, PowerApps implementation, and process improvement once the initial environment is created.

- Migrate and upgrade the current Microsoft Access Databases that exist in the local environment but are not compatible with the new Flank Speed O365 software.

- Identify repetitive processes within the command. Design and build low-code business apps, dashboards, and automated workflows using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate).

- Integrate apps with various data sources used by the command and U.S. Navy, including Excel spreadsheets, SharePoint lists, Dataverse tables, and other sources as may be available in the M365 platform.

- Meet with customers and stakeholders regularly to gather requirements, mitigate roadblocks, and provide status reports.

- Identify opportunities for improvement and provide solutions to update or change processes, systems, or products to enhance performance and demonstrate innovation with alignment to a systems perspective.

- Additional duties as required.

Qualifications: Required

- Candidate must live in the commuting area and/or be willing to relocate to Sasebo, Japan.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Interim Secret security clearance and subsequent final DoD Secret security clearance.

- Minimum 3 years of experience in software development and/or data analytics with at least 2 years building solutions on the M365 Power Platform. Relevant active Microsoft certification(s) may be substituted for some, but not all, of this requirement.

- Work is at the customer site, embedded in the Shipyard industrial environment, to ensure customer needs are being met.

- Physical Demands: Normal demands associated with a Shipyard office environment, including ability to work on a computer for long periods. Work is in an active industrial environment that may require walking long distances carrying backpack filled with work materials (and transporting materials, supplies as needed), climbing ladders, and accessing confined spaces. Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs.

Desired

- Active DoD Secret security clearance.

- Bachelors and/or advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or other related technical field.

- Previous military service or previous work experience at a Naval Shipyard.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200 - 158,100 USD
