We're looking for a SHE Advisor to join our Transportation team based in Wymondham. Kier Highways Solutions (KHS) provides a one-stop-shop end to end works management and delivery capability from carriageway treatment design, product manufacture, installation, temporary traffic management through to small civils works, patching & road markings. What will you be responsible for?
As a SHE Advisor, you'll be working within the SHE Team, supporting them in the management and promotion of health, safety, environment, and well-being for our activities across the Kier Highways Solutions contract. This role will require cross-functional support to other business units and involve travel to other base locations. There will be a need to attend the office and various sites, implementing and promoting the corporate SHE strategy.
Your day to day will include:
Developing, driving and championing safety, health, and environment campaigns, supporting team activities and responsibilities by arranging, recording, compiling, and producing reports, including but not limited to monthly performance, collaborative performance framework records, audits, workshops, meetings, and other forums Helping teams with closing out actions arising from investigations, near misses and safety observations, demonstrating and ensuring compliance with all safety, health, environmental and quality policies Aiding the Contract Management team and Operational Team, raising potential breaches in legal compliance and providing solutions to the Contract Manager, advising operational teams and supply chain partners on identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing control measures Being visible and available to the Operational Teams and supply chain for suitable advice, delivering the facilities / premises test & inspection programme and retaining records, liaising with Kier Occupational Health team to provide health & wellbeing support for Kier employees across the contract Collating data on SHE performance for contribution to client & internal reporting requirements, participating in regular meetings with operational staff, supply chain partners, clients, and the contract management team, promoting the recording of safety observations from the Kier workforce and our supply chain, providing feedback on actions taken, advising the management team on incidents and injuries, leading incident investigations determining and eliminating the root causeWhat are we looking for?

You have experience in a similar role with incident investigator training, a working understanding of SHE legislation and ISO: 9001, ISO: 14001 and ISO: 4500 Hold an environmental qualification at Foundation level and a member of IOSH Demonstrate experience of temporary traffic management and knowledge of premises / facilities managementWe're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome!
