This position reports for EHS matters relating to Wellingborough & Non-op sites to the UK Facility Manager. Works close together with the Safety coordinators of the Nourish and Scent BU’s. This position subsequently holds functionally reporting lines with the Regional EHS &S manager and to Corporate EHS.
The position may require contacts with some external authorities, fire department and environmental agencies, Internally the communication with all IFF departments..
Main Responsibilities:
Ensure that environmental, and safety programs are drawn up periodically, in accordance with legal and company policies and regulations, including time, manpower, training and equipment/system requirements and cost consequencesEnsure that all permits, required by law, are acquired and kept up-to-date at all times in order to contribute to the ongoing operation of IFF and to reduce risks for the organization.Ensure that all operational, environmental and safety systems and installations continuously meet governmental, IFF and insurance requirements and that clear and effective emergency plans are in place in such a way that risks for people and IFF are minimized.Responsible for the ER organization and ER trainings. Provide training and support to all department based on the annual EHS training program to implement the applicable IFF EHS policies.Perform risk assessments where required working closely with colleagues with in the laboratory environment. Ensuring sites are fully up to date with all COSHH requirementsInvestigate incidents and accidents and advise relevant parties on potential improvements in order to reduce risks. Continuously keep abreast of developments relating to environmental and safety affairs.Act as center of expertise in these areas for the sites affiliates and advise parties involved on all matters relating to EHS and their consequences for the organization.Provide support on EHS affairs, including the role of Sustainability champion, Maintain auditing and reporting programs for the Wellingborough and other Non-ops sites in adherence to the IFF EHS standards and requirements.Provide ongoing support around day to day safety checks including such things as Legionella, Fire Risk, PPM monitoring, First Aid supportRequirements:
This position requires experience in safety, health and environmental issues and regulations on a mid to bachelor level (MVK).A good understanding of the Creative processes is needed.The candidate must possess strong organisational, human relations, and communications skills to raise awareness and if needed correct situations.Experience in safety, health and environmental issues and regulations.Experience within a lab environment is preferred with a IOSH or NEBOSH background.We are a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, offering our customers a broader range of natural solutions and accelerating our growth strategy.
