BAE Systems is currently recruiting for an experienced Safety & Health Supervisor to support our York, PA facility on the second shift (2pm-10pm). In this role you will be responsible for supervising a team of SHE Specialists on 2nd and 3rd shift, that support the safe execution of production activities in accordance with the corporate safety policy and all federal, state and local regulations. You will also develop working partnerships across the organization that promote a positive, proactive approach to ensuring worker health and safety; create and maintain an effective method for review of work processes to ensure a robust approach to hazard identification, risk assessment and the implementation of operational controls; and establish and maintain the infrastructure and organization necessary to consistently deliver industry leading Safety and Health performance.
Other responsibilities will include:
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, consensus standards, and customer requirements.
+ Conduct Incident investigations. Train safety staff in incident investigation and personally engage management with the investigation process. Make recommendations for process improvement and hazard mitigation. Manage open actions to closure. Generate safety alerts as needed.
+ Support and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
+ Lead the Emergency Response Team on 2nd shift. Hold regular trainings for the team and ensure annual certifications are current.
+ Arrange for robust safety inspections across the facility; train staff, operations, and other support functions in inspection methods and provide personal oversight of these inspections.
+ Ensure adequate risk assessment, hazard analysis and determination of controls of work processes throughout the facility. Train employees in risk assessment, root cause analysis, hazard analysis, and elimination / mitigation measures. Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) where needed.
+ Schedule, conduct, and oversee occupational safety and health training. Ensure that all employees are appropriately trained in safety practice and protocol commensurate with the requirements of their position.
+ Review and update Safety and Occupational Health policies and procedures, ensuring they are accurate, current, and reflect the latest Regulatory, Industry, and Company standards and requirements.
+ Creates an environment of actively engaged partnering, coaching, directing, and when necessary, enforcement of company and regulatory requirements.
+ Based on injury data analysis, employee interviews, risk assessments, past incidents, & near misses, etc., lead proactive projects that reduce risk.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Typically requires a Bachelor s degree and 4 years of related manufacturing safety experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Experience leading a team.
+ Supervisory experience.
+ Proficient in OSHA regulations, consensus standards.
+ Proficient in basic First Aid to include CPR/AED.
+ Capable of recognizing risks and hazards associated with heavy manufacturing.
+ Requires use of conceptual and innovative thinking (i.e., identifying solutions).
+ Developed communication skills to exchange complex information.
+ Basic knowledge of industrial hygiene, air monitoring for heavy metals, and noise abatement.
+ Computer capable to include MS: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
+ Able to support on the 2nd Shift.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, or in the process of obtaining such credentials.
+ Familiarity with the concepts of Serious Injury and Fatality programs.
+ Knowledge of Safety & Health management systems such as ISO45001.
+ Familiarity/knowledge of heavy manufacturing operations to include welding, assembly, overhead cranes, powered industrial trucks and Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP).
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 - $125422
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
