What You Will Be Doing
As a Sheet Metal Operator Setup, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Lays out work, establishing necessary reference points, center lines and guide lines, make necessary allowance for bends, machining, measures with scale, calipers and micrometers and uses scribers, center punch, surface gage, dividers, etc.; to mark material
• Programs, sets up and operates CNC equipment, bending, rolling, and machines, power and hand shears, Do-All saws, brakes, nibblers, punch press, turret punch press, drill presses, radial drills, etc.; and various hand grinders to shape and alter sheet metal according to specifications
• Installs hardware such as inserts, rivets, standoffs, gaskets, nameplates, and other mechanical components in sheet metal and machined parts using pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and hand tools and machinery, including riveters, fasteners, setters, presses, spot welders, grinders, Helicoil installation tools, etc.
• Performs necessary hand operations, such as filing, scraping, straightening, mechanical assembly etc.
• May be required to turn machine over to machine attendant or operator, giving necessary instructions for proper producing of parts, work area, etc.
• Uses various types of hand tools, such as files, hammers, scrapers, wrenches, etc. and various measuring instruments such as plug gages, snap gages, indicators, verniers, micrometers, depth gages, etc.
• Interprets CAD data, prints and sketches and can follow written manufacturing instructions (MI's) and/or verbal instructions
• Performs minor preventive maintenance to equipment
• Collaborates with other personnel to train or teach various sheet metal or assembly techniques to obtain proficient use of time and produce quality parts.
• Interfaces with supervision, engineering, production control and program management to plan and set up departmental tasks to achieve program schedules.
• Performs other job-related duties as required by management

Basic Qualifications:
• 10 years’ experience in precision sheet metal fabrication operating CNC and manual shears, brakes, laser cutters, punch press, band saws, deburring tools, etc. or assembling mechanical components in sheet metal and machined parts using pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, hand tools and machinery
• Proficient in rolling, hand forming of sheet metal
• Must know the difference between and understand the cutting properties of both ferrous and non-ferrous materials
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances and inspect parts using required precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers and protractors to ensure they meet blueprint specifications
• Proficient using hand tools for deburring and metal finishing
• Must have a full understanding of brake tooling, bend allowance, bend deduction, and usage of precision measuring devices
• Can read and understand complex blueprints and sketches with respect to various assembly and metals forming and differentiation between thread sizes, pitch, metric and standard threads
Desired Skills:
• CNC Press Brake experience
• Operated PEM machines, CNC Punch Presses, Laser Cutters, Spot welder, Tapping machines and vertical drill presses
• Preventative machine maintenance abilities experience
• Ability to set up, qualify and run spot welding equipment in accordance with specified procedures

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

You will be a Sheet Metal Operator Setup with our team in Archbald, PA. Lockheed Martin Archbald is a full-service Missiles and Fire Control facility that provides design, manufacturing, engineering & field service support for both domestic and international customers.
